INFO
Stylized, clay-like sculpture of an old fantasy character of mine from ~2003 — essentially a winged goat (or ixi, for those in the know). Done for a challenge in Pablander's ZBrush Discord community. Thank you Pablo & @Reallusion for selecting my entry as a winner of the #ArtSkillsUpdateChallenge!

ZBrush sculpture and modeling, rendered in Cinema 4D / Redshift.

The dates look like a 20-year update, but it's more like ~10-15 — I stopped making art for a while to focus on science. Returning to it is not "like riding a bike" at all: It was immensely frustrating; I'd forgotten things that used to be easy and intuitive. But it's been an interesting journey! My goals changed and some things aren't at all what kid-me would've expected. In a good way. I'm really happy with what I get to do now, thanks to those gaps and changes in course.

Screenshots showing a  process of making 3D wings in ZBrush.

The wings were the most difficult bit. I tried a few different processes, but this is the one I like best: using ZBrush's Array Mesh and Bend Curve.
